We decided to form an organisation to serve the society in general with a special emphasis to look after such distressed children from poor families . For this purpose Kamakhya Balak Ashram was set up and duly registered.

A) A child can be sponsored by paying Rs.1629/- or US $ 40 per month or Rs.19,544/- (US $488) per year .Any number of children for any period can be sponsored.
B) By contributing for any of the items of expenses detailed above

i) Books, exercise books, other stationery items
ii) Various equipments like computers, T.V., fax machine ,washing machine etc.
iii) Health care and sports equipments like first aid kits, common medicines, foot balls, cricket bats, balls, wickets, badminton rackets etc.
Our aim is to develop different aspects of their personality, so that they can be good citizens self dependant for which following additional programmes, activities and training courses have been started :-

This Ashram was established by one Mr. Madhab Bhattacharjee who is the current secretary and the over all in charge for day to day running of the institution. He was a local businessman, he is also a very religious man. In 1989 he decided to sell off all his businesses to develop this unique institution and to devote his life to the service of the poor helpless orphans. I am yet to meet a man with greater commitment and total dedication to his beliefs and his mission. He runs this institution with strict discipline blended with great love and care. All the children and the staff adore him and look up to him as a father figure.
